Steve and I made a trip to North Jax to conduct business this morning. Afterwards, the rumbling sound in my stomach had to be silenced, so, we stopped at the local Arby’s for the lunch repast. Why the photo of a plastic straw in the cup you may ask? Well, it seems that one of the many goofball legislators in California wants to prohibit plastic straws in California restaurants. We’re talking jail time and/or fines for any Waiter that gives out said plastic straws. I doubt that it will ever become law BUT only in California would someone even consider this a good idea. Really, is there something in the water there that makes people insane or something?
My husband said we both needed proper tank bags for the Honda’s. That necessitated a further journey into the belly of the beast to buy matching Sedici Tank Bag’s at Cycle Gear for the Honda’s. We heard good news there that Cycle Gear is planning on expanding into Brunswick! That’ll be wonderful because it will only be about 50 minutes from our home. Good deal. 🙂
It’s nice to be back home in Paradise again. I don’t miss the traffic and crowds at all. What a lovely day it has been.

We were all doubtless surprised when the East German authorities began opening the Berlin Wall to West Berlin visitors at Christmas time. We can never be sure just what might be up the Communists’ sleeves, but for the time being it sounds encouraging. What they ought to do, of course, is to tear the wall down. It is a crime against humanity and a sin against God to confine half a city in a cage, to treat human beings as if they were animals.
The Bible speaks of a wall that separated all mankind into two parts. In Ephesians 2 the Law, the Ten Commandments, is called “the middle wall of partition.”
The Law was given to God’s covenant people. The Gentiles had been given up long before at the Tower of Babel and God had called out Abraham and his seed and had given them the Law. They broke the Law, however, so that Rom. 3:19 says:
“Whatsoever the law saith it saith to them that are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped and all the world may be brought in guilty before God.”
Because of the broken Law all men have been placed on the same level, but this was also God’s purpose of grace: “For God hath concluded them all in unbelief: that He might have mercy upon all” (Rom. 11:32). And thus God offers salvation to all through Christ, who died for our sins at Calvary. This is why Eph. 2:13-16 says:
“But now, in Christ Jesus, ye who once were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For He is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us… that He might reconcile both unto God in one Body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby.”
Thank God there is no “Berlin Wall” between God and those who trust His Son, nor between believers who have been made “one Body in Christ.”
To the Reader:
Some of our Two Minutes articles were written many years ago. Rather than rewrite or date such articles, we have left them just as they were when first published. This, we felt, would add to the interest, especially since our readers understand that many of them first appeared as newspaper articles. We hope that you’ll agree that while some of the references in these articles are dated, the spiritual truths taught therein are timeless.
Yesterday was my maiden voyage on the 2013 Honda CB1100. So it was Steve with his CB and me with mine, as we rode into town to get the title and tag transfer completed. It was very chilly (please note the Mercury jacket – brrrr) but it was a nice day for a ride into Blackshear.
With barely a trepidation, I ventured down the one mile of shifting sand dirt lane to the pavement. She was sure footed and it was a comfort to know I could flat foot now any hesitations that might arise. Oh yes. I’m gonna like this bike. Honda did themselves proud with this little number. The motor is so smooth and the ride oh so quiet. Love it.
Now I must make some new ‘siggys’ (signatures) featuring me with the Honda. Maybe my sweet creative friend Simply Linda can help in that department. 🙂 Steve said some time soon we’ll ride over to a pond not too far distant to snap some ‘glam’ shots on the next sunny day. Life is enjoyable if one opens their heart to it! Thank you LORD for your generous love that makes my life fun.
