Future Plans

cross in the sunlight 11 JAN 2018 small

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” [Jeremiah 29:11]

What a glorious promise that is, ‘ey!? God our Father never lies and never forgets either. He is so good to us.

Not much going on in our neck of the woods this week. Because the weather improved so drastically, we did manage to clear out a lot of old plants in preparation for Spring. We made a mutual decision to give up vegetable gardening, I think. Might still plant a Yellow Squash plant or two. However, there’s just too much work for too little reward in this poor soil. So, we plan to stick with flowering bushes, etc. I’ll be sure to photograph the progress if, and when, it happens. The rain surprised me half way through the clean up, thus no photos. It’s raining in earnest now. That’s a good thing because it helps keep our little country dirt road in drive able condition. God is good and knows all our needs.

Have a blessed day.

  1. Thumbs up to giving up veggie gardening; it is too hard and you end up with very little after all the work. If our son didnt garden, we would be buying ours at the farmers market for sure. Plus, flowers are much prettier! lol

    1. I just had to face the reality that neither of us have the bodies to keep gardening. Kinda breaks my heart. But, life is good. Time to just let go. 🙂
      Hope you’re doing better today.
Love & prayers for you my friend! ❤

  2. I love the TV show DOC MARTIN and laughed at a line last night…his aunt had just inherited a farm, she’s a city woman, and he saw this aunt walking out of a store with a bag full of vegetables…he says ‘You know, they grow that on your farm”…she says “and when those vegetables growing there jump out of the ground, cleaned and ready to cook, I’ll use them!” Cracked me UP!
God bless you, dear Sparky…LOVED this post.

    1. His Aunt knew the truth! lol Yeah, my body just can’t take the stooping, hoeing, cleaning, spraying … and, well, you get the picture, anymore.
