There’s so much to be thankful for when we have Jesus Christ as our LORD and Saviour. Ok, so, that’s the first thing I’m thankful for since I sure can’t save myself from eternal damnation! No one can. I’m a sinner, full of faults and numerous foibles, and know it. I’d much rather live with Christ for all eternity. ❤ Thank you LORD for showing me this truth.
Next would be, I’m thankful for my sweet husband, Steve. We are still together after 39 years of wedded bliss. It’s been through sickness and in health, richer or poorer, and just about every cruddy thing one can think of. He still likes me. lol Unfortunately, he’s having some (hopefully only) minor health issues that require doctor visits, but other than that, he’s still going strong for a 70 year old. He will be having a stress test next Friday. Y’all pray for this dear man please? Thank you. I’ve kinda gotten attached to him. giggle 🙂
I’m thankful that the weather has cooled. The temps dropped down to about 70 degrees last night. There’s a light breeze and the sky is azure blue. Very nice. I was gonna ride today but now my health is giving me a fit. Can’t win for losing. Anyway, it’s nothing serious, just annoying and keeps me off the motorbike.
Thankful for friends, and that includes all y’all that ‘follow’ this humble blog. Friends are such a treasure. I had never had so many people I truly considered a friend until we started attending this Church. Thank you LORD for that extra special blessing too.
And, I’m thankful for President Trump and Vice President Pence, and all the other wonderful government employees who are enduring so much venom laced vitriol from the demons on the Left. I try to pray for them all at least twice a day. The devil, their father and our adversary, is always on the prowl for victims. He’s so very vocal, isn’t he? But he has no power over those who believe in Jesus Christ our LORD. Jesus has already defeated him on the cross. We’re studying the Gospel of John in our ladies Wednesday night Bible Study class. A close examination of the Word is opening my eyes to what we’re dealing with on this earth. In John 15:18-27, Jesus knew what was coming. And he was trying to warn the disciples. He knew they would be frightened, so, He warned them that the world will hate them because they hate Him and not to worry because He was sending us an Advocate (the Holy Spirit) to give us strength. When a person hates Jesus, they hate God the Father and are condemned to eternal damnation. They need to get saved (John 3:16). Meditate on these Holy Words and they will bring us comfort. We’re being Right by trusting God. We’re doing the Right thing. Hold onto that when the world tries to beat you down. His Word is so comforting. There’s power in the cross. That’s a lot to be thankful for. I pray this brings comfort to my dear readers also.
John 15:18-27 NIV
The World Hates the Disciples
18 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me (Jesus) first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. 20 Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’[a] If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. 21 They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.23 Whoever hates me hates my Father as well. 24 If I had not done among them the works no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. 25 But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated me without reason.’[b]
The Work of the Holy Spirit
26 “When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me. 27 And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning.
Have a blessed and fruitful day folks! Keep witnessing for Christ because He’s coming back soon. I pray no one is left behind.
Thank you for stopping by.
