Tuesday 4: Blogging

Welcome to Toni Taddeo’s Tuesday 4 kept up in her memory.

This week the questions were supplied by Pamela Steiner. Here we go, let’s talk about Blogging!

1.  Tell us about your blog.  When did you start blogging? June 23, 2008 at Blogger at this link. I had zero readers, of course. It took many months to acquire several acquaintances. Many have become dear friends. Some have gotten lost along the way for various reasons but most have stuck with me. At any rate, I have since moved on to WordPress.

2.  What prompted you to begin blogging? Curiosity about the, what was then, new World Wide Web. I was also wanting to express myself, learn new things, make new friends, with a teeny bit of boredom tossed in for good measure.

3.  What was your first blog about and why did you choose that subject/title? It took a LONG while for me to make up my mind what to call my blog. I don’t quite recall how I settled on My Thoughts Exactly, but, that’s what my blog is. A hodgepodge about motorcycles, politics, beliefs, past experiences, events, genealogy research, gardening, crafting, and sometimes just plain muddled thoughts or rants. Kinda like everyone else’s here in Bloggyland. I try to not be boring but I seem to have lost momentum lately.

4.  How has your blog changed over time, and has it done for you what you hoped it would do in the first place? I would venture to say my blog has exceeded my expectations but I never have expected much. Less disappointment that way.

Thank you for joining in. And GREAT BIG WARM thank you to Annie for taking time out of her busy day, to wade through the pain of loss and troubles, to cater to people she doesn’t even know and will probably never meet this side of Paradise just to make us happy. She’s a real treasure. May we all strive to be more kindly. And remember to …

    1. I know! You were one of my first ‘followers’ on Blogger AND we got to meet face-to-face. Thanks for sticking with me, even through the move. 🙂 I do hope your week will be easier this time. Still praying about y’all situation. Love ya friend. ❤

  1. Your comment on #4 made me laugh. It’s always been a big saying in my mom’s family that “if you don’t expect anything, you won’t be disappointed!”

    1. 😜 I guess that did sound gloomy. Sorry. Didn’t mean to. Must be the weather with almost constant overcast skies. ⛅ Having a Tropical Storm or Hurricane heading one’s way is tantamount to being stalked by a turtle. 🐢 You don’t know if it’ll get here or when and one hopes one is ready.

I hope your day is blessed. ❤

  2. I love that many have become close friends because that happened to me too. Several left for Facebook but we still follow each other on Facebook. Also I have several we have become awesome email friends and talk about our personal life that we may not share of blogger.

    1. I know, that is awesome. I think that most of us that blog have a caring personality and want to meet others. Most of my day-to-day posts are on FB too, even though I get “jailed” from time to time for upsetting their algorithms. lol It’s totally worth it to get some pantywaist snowflake in a wad. 😉
Thanks for stopping by and sayin’ “howdy”!
      Blessings.

  3. I’m so glad we “Pamela’s” have found each other here, a little later than most of the others, but better late than never. I enjoy reading “My Thoughts Exactly”, and I think that is a perfect title. I love that our blogs are our own space to say and do whatever we wish, within reason of course, but the people I love to read are normally “reasonable people” who aren’t afraid to be honest. That’s what makes it more fun and interesting. I am so glad that we still have this freedom to share our thoughts this way, when other places are shutting us down out of fear for hearing the truth. May we always be free to speak the truth. Have a blessed and safe rest of the week. Praying Elsa goes “elsa-where”. LOL.

    1. Hopefully I’m honest mixed in with God’s kindness. I do mess up and get “passionate” about some subjects, but truly, it doesn’t amount to a hill of beans if folks agree or disagree. It’s only words. I’m from the Old School that knows that sticks and stones may break my bones but words won’t ever hurt me. 🙂 I wish they’d teach the young’ins that. Words have more importance to them than actions. That’s sad.
Oh, and please pray that we DO get the storm. We need the rain badly. Storms are good. We’ll be fine no matter what it’s called. Thanks.
      Love & Blessings xx

  4. I started blogging about the same time as you, but a month or two earlier. I’m still at the same address I was when I started. I’m so thankful for the friends I’ve made all over the world. And I’m so glad to count you among them!

  5. Seems we all got into this blogging stuff pretty much the same way… blindly and not really knowing where it would go. But, here we are and I am so blessed to call you my friend!! xo

    1. Blindly, indeed. Well said. I had no followers when first starting out. It’s like a leap of faith putting oneself out there on the world stage for all to see. I’m glad I did it. And glad that all here have too.
Thank you for your friendship. I count you in that number too.
      Love & Blessings. xx

  6. Hi! I found you via the Tuesday 4 website. I like your idea that you write about a hodge podge of things. I feel the same way about my blog. Go with your strengths.
