For some reason, I haven’t shared this before. Perhaps I was thinking that most folks wouldn’t be interested in a Motorcycle Travel Vlog. For some months now, Steve and I have been hooked on watching a nice young lady from Holland by the name of Noraly that is traveling the world on her Royal Enfield “Basanti”. She goes by the clever handle “Itchy Boots”. Very fitting as she’s been so many places! She’s always polite, respectful, friendly and never uses vulgarity. Completely alone, this brave young gal has battled all types of weather, tire failures, tyrannical governments, difficulties finding good food and gasoline, and many oddities on her travels. I envy her way of being able to speak so many languages and overcome some really tough odds. I can barely speak my own native tongue of English, well, American, to be technical, let alone speak someone else’s language! *lol*
Yesterday, we watched all the posts again of her travel vlog on YouTube while we (im)patiently await her Series 3. 🙂 Below is the Season 1, Episode 1 of her Vlog (PS: They get better as she learns the Vlog ropes.):
Series 1 are her adventures in India, Asia, all the islamic “Stans”, etc. One of the Countries she toured was Croatia. I thought that place is so beautiful. If I was more adventurous, ok, ok, and 30 years younger like her, I would travel to Croatia to ride. There is such fantastic scenery.
Series 2 is South America earlier this year when the hysteria and shutdowns happened in March. Poor thing had to scoot out of there before getting trapped! The tension had us all on the edge of our seats. I think we were all praying for her to escape and stay well.
Now that’s she’s back home in Holland, she’s working on Series 3 which will be there in Europe. She also has a new motorcycle, a Honda CB500X. This bike is very similar to my current ride, which is a 2015 Honda NC700X. Can’t wait to see where she goes, meet the people she meets and see the lovely landscapes she sees. Through her eyes, I’ve learned a lot about cultures, the world and geography.
So, enjoy! If we can’t travel, at least we can live vicariously through others. At my age, being in my comfy recliner is a definite “plus”. 😉
We might ride to our new Church today, if it’s not 100* by lunch. With all the rain we’ve been having our usually sandy, scary, dirt road should be in super condition. Rain packs it down real nice. And now you know how (not) adventurous I am!
“The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.”
